Foundation Single Crochet

Foundation Single Crochet

This stitch is often abbreviated FSC. To make this stitch chain 2, place your hook in the second chain from the hook and yarn over and pull up a loop. You have 2 loops on your hook. Then yarn over and pull through one loop. This creates the chain part of the FSC. Pinching that chain, yarn over and pull through 2 loops. You’ve just completed your first FSC. If you hold your swatch vertically, and you are a righthanded crocheter, insert your hook under the chain part of the stitch. The chain part is the to loops on the left handside of the stitch. You need to insert your hook under both these loops. Yarn over and pull up a loop. Yarn over pull through one loop, yarn over pull through 2 loops. Repeat this process for as many FSCs as you need.
